Grooms Cottage

Grooms Cottage is a Grade II listed, detached 18th-century building in the middle of the village of St Minver, and it works upside down. Steps rise from the private front courtyard to a glazed door and a flagstone hallway, where all 3 bedrooms sit on the ground floor. The open-plan kitchen, dining and sitting area, with its wood-burning stove, is on the first floor.

The cottage sleeps six. The principal bedroom is a king-size four-poster with an en-suite bathroom holding a bath, shower over, hand shower, basin and WC. There is also a double, a twin and a separate shower room. A utility room adds a further shower cubicle, basin and WC, along with the washing machine and tumble dryer. The dishwasher, microwave and WiFi are included, and so are fuel and power. Bed linen is provided but towels are not.

Outside are the front courtyard, with furniture and a barbecue, and a terraced garden at the back; the garden is enclosed. Parking is off-road for two cars. A cot and highchair are available on request. The pub is a mile away, and the water sports centre and sailing school at Rock are two miles off, with a foot ferry across the Camel estuary to Padstow.

One well-behaved dog is welcome. There is no smoking and no short breaks. The steps at the front and the stairs up to the living area make it less good for anyone who finds stairs hard; it suits a family or three couples travelling together.
