Guinevere

Guinevere is a four-storey townhouse for six in central Fowey, refurbished in 2024. Its top-floor living area looks over the estuary and rooftops, distinguishing it from single-level properties in the town.

The three bedrooms comprise a super-king-size room, a king-size room that converts to twins, and a children's bunk room, with two bathrooms serving the house. The bunk room makes the house easiest to fill with a family of six. A roof terrace above the living area has a direct sightline across Fowey to the sea. Wi-Fi, parking and a dishwasher are included, and up to two dogs are welcome. The four floors of stairs rule the house out for guests with limited mobility.

Readymoney Cove is 900 metres away on foot, a sandy cove below St Catherine's Castle, the Henry VIII-era fort on the headland. Lantic Bay is 1.3 miles further round the coast. The Hall Walk circular, a 4-mile route using both the Fowey-Bodinnick and Polruan ferries, starts nearby, and Fowey's harbourside restaurants and shops are within walking distance. **Best for:** a family with children wanting flexible bedroom configurations, a roof terrace and central Fowey on foot. **Less good for:** guests unable to manage stairs across four floors.
