Harlyn

Harlyn is a single-storey cottage on the edge of Mevagissey, sleeping 5 across 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Everything is on the ground floor, including the king-size bedroom with its en-suite shower room. Dogs are welcome in the enclosed rear garden, and off-road parking is included.

Pentewan Beach is 1 mile north along the coast - a sheltered sandy beach with a holiday park behind it and a slipway used by kayakers. Gorran Haven is 2.4 miles south, a smaller cove with a sand-and-pebble beach tucked below the cliffs.

Mevagissey is 0.8 miles away. The shop and pub are a 10-minute walk, with an uphill return. The working fishing harbour has several fish-and-chip shops, independent cafes, and a small aquarium along the quay. The village holds an annual Feast Week in late June. The Heligan gardens are about 2 miles inland. Dishwasher and Wi-Fi are included.

Best for couples or families of 5 travelling with a dog who want ground-floor accommodation near a fishing village and coast. Guests who need step-free access should check with the owner before booking. Not great for those expecting a remote rural setting - this is a residential edge of town.

The 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom layout across a single floor keeps everyone on one level, with a conservatory dining area and a sun room besides the sitting room. The enclosed garden keeps dogs contained without needing supervision on the lead. Dishwasher and washing machine reduce the week-long logistics. Hemmick Beach, a National Trust cove with no cafe or facilities, is 3.4 miles for a quieter alternative. Changeover is Friday.
