Heatherdale

Heatherdale is an end-of-terrace cottage in Treknow, a small village in the civil parish of Tintagel, sleeping five across three floors. One dog is welcome, and the open fire in the sitting room is a practical draw for off-season stays.

The ground floor has a kitchen with dining area and the sitting room with open fire. A dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, and fridge-freezer are fitted. The first floor holds a king-size double bedroom and a bathroom with bath and shower over. On the second floor, a room with three single beds gives the layout flexibility for families. Off-road parking fits two cars and an enclosed garden provides outdoor space.

Trebarwith Strand - one of north Cornwall's most popular low-tide beaches - is around 15 minutes on foot downhill from the village. Bossiney Cove Beach, a secluded sandy cove accessible only at low tide with its distinctive Elephant Rock formation, is roughly 1.7 miles away. Tregardock Beach, a remote surf-exposed stretch, is a similar distance. Tintagel Castle (English Heritage, adult entry £14.80) and the 14th-century Old Post Office are both a short drive or a longer walk.

**Best for:** Dog owners and small families who want the north Cornwall coast path on the doorstep and an open fire for evenings, without paying Tintagel village prices. **Less good for:** Larger groups - the single bathroom is a constraint with five guests, and the three-floor layout isn't suited to anyone with mobility needs.
