Treknow sits in a sheltered dip about a mile from Tintagel, with its castle ruins, the Old Post Office (National Trust), and village shops. The coast path connects to Rocky Valley, Bossiney Haven, and Boscastle to the north-east. Trebarwith Strand, one of north Cornwall's broad sand beaches, is a 15-minute walk downhill from the village. The nearest pub is 1 mile away and a shop is 1.1 miles.

Best for a dog owner wanting an open fire and coastal walks from Treknow, with Trebarwith Strand a 15-minute walk downhill. Less good for two families sharing - there's only one bathroom for six guests.
