Hobbys

Hobbys is a three-bedroom stone cottage sleeping six in the hamlet of Trenale, half a mile from Tintagel on the north Cornwall coast. The property is one of eight converted stone cottages arranged around a landscaped courtyard, each with its own enclosed garden. Sleeping layout combines a double, a bunk room, and a zip-and-link room - useful for families or mixed groups. Pets are welcome. Off-road parking and a shared recreational paddock are included.

A shared paddock adjoins the courtyard - open ground for exercising dogs or watching the sun go down over the Atlantic. The South West Coast Path is within easy reach, connecting the hamlet to Bossiney Cove, Rocky Valley, and the ruins of Tintagel Castle.

Bossiney Cove is about 800 metres away on foot - a sandy low-tide cove with turquoise water and a rock arch known as Elephant Rock. Tregardock Beach, a wilder stretch with powerful surf, is 3.1 miles south. Tintagel village is under five minutes by car: the King Arthur's Arms Inn has been family-run for over 80 years, Tintagel Castle (English Heritage, £14.80 adults) is reached by a 58-metre footbridge opened in 2019, and the Old Post Office (National Trust) is a 14th-century farmhouse on Fore Street. Boscastle harbour, National Trust, lies 2.5 miles north.

**Best for:** Pet-owning families or groups of six wanting a rural base with communal outdoor space, within striking distance of Tintagel and the north coast path. **Less good for:** Those wanting a standalone property - this is a courtyard complex of eight cottages - or guests needing sea views.
