Hook Cottage at Cardwen Farm, Pelynt, sits a few miles inland from the south Cornwall coast, sleeping four across two bedrooms - a king double and a twin. The single bathroom includes both a bath and a separate shower. An open-plan living area centres on a wood burner and open fire, making this a practical base for cooler-season trips. The kitchen runs to a dishwasher and washing machine. The property is fully accessible at ground level throughout.

The enclosed garden comes with a patio and BBQ. Dogs are welcome, and the farmland around Pelynt offers good walking from the door without needing a car. Talland Bay - a sheltered sand-and-shingle cove with a clifftop car park - is 4.1km away. Lansallos Beach, reached by a steep footpath through National Trust woodland, adds another option at 4.8km. Looe town, with its fishing harbour and independent shops, is roughly 20 minutes by road.

Talland Bay is the closest of the three beaches and often quieter than the main Looe beaches. Families with dogs tend to head there first given the easy cliff walks linking it to Polperro.

Best for couples or small families who want a comfortable countryside base with working fires, genuine dog-friendliness, and accessible facilities. Less good for those expecting a town-centre location or on-site parking - the address is rural and the drive to amenities takes a few minutes.
