Kiln Cottage

Kiln Cottage is a three-storey property in Golant village, set directly alongside the River Fowey. Almost every room takes in estuary views - a bay window sitting room on the first floor, and 6 front-facing windows in the top-floor master suite. Three bedrooms sleep 6 across a king-size room, a twin, and the top-floor super-king; the first-floor lounge has an open fire on a slate hearth. Two bathrooms, Wi-Fi, parking, dishwasher, and washing machine are included. Saturday changeovers.

The village inn at Golant has a terrace with direct river views and serves food - a short walk from the cottage. Readymoney Cove is 3.6km, the sheltered sandy beach below Fowey town. Lantic Bay - a steep-descent National Trust cove - is 4.5km. The town of Fowey itself is around 4km south and has a good selection of restaurants, galleries, and ferry crossings to Polruan.

Golant sits within easy reach of several major visitor attractions - the Eden Project is roughly 20 minutes by car, and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are a similar distance to the south-west. Both work as half-day trips, leaving plenty of time to walk the estuary-side footpath that runs directly past the cottage and south towards Fowey at low tide.

Ideal for couples or small families who want a river setting rather than direct beach access - the estuary views and village pub make it a strong choice for off-season stays. Less good for those prioritising beach time, as Readymoney and Lantic both require driving. The three-storey layout suits adults and older children more than very young families.
