Kittiwake is a modern three-bedroom house spread over three floors in Downderry on Cornwall's south-east coast. It sleeps up to six across three doubles, with two bathrooms - workable for a family or two couples travelling together. Ground floor is open-plan kitchen, dining and living, with French windows opening onto the patio and enclosed lawned garden. The middle floor has two double bedrooms and the family bathroom. The top floor is given over to the master suite with its own balcony and ensuite shower room. It is a three-storey house though - worth knowing for anyone with mobility issues or very young children.

The kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine. Wifi runs throughout. The garden is fully enclosed, so dogs can be off-lead, and there is space for outdoor meals on the patio. Parking is on site. Low-occupancy discounts apply outside peak weeks.

Downderry beach is a 6-minute walk and dog-friendly year-round - south-facing pebble and sand stretching a mile at low tide. The village centre is another couple of minutes for The Inn on the Shore and Bewshea's bar/cafe. The South West Coast Path runs along the headland to Seaton west and Portwrinkle east. Best for a family group with a dog; less good if everyone wants a ground-floor bedroom.
