Gunwalloe Church Cove sits directly below the ancient church of St Winwaloe, one of the more photographed coastal settings in the area. Poldhu Cove a kilometre north offers more consistent surf and a National Trust cafe at the clifftop.

Best for couples seeking a quiet countryside base in the southern part of Cornwall with access to the Lizard and the Helford estuary. Suits dog owners who want walking trails on the doorstep. Less good for those wanting beach proximity, sea views, or multiple sleeping spaces - this is deliberately small-scale, and the nearest beaches require a short drive.
