The Falcon Hotel and The Brendon Arms both serve food within easy walking distance; the town centre across the bridge adds further cafes and independent shops. Bude's canal runs inland from the harbour and is used for flat-water kayaking and walking away from the coast road.

Crooklets Beach - Bude's main surf break, with RNLI cover in summer - is about a mile north of the cottage.

**Best for:** families with children who want a short walk to a safe, lifeguarded beach, a private garden, and a town within easy reach on foot.

**Less good for:** anyone expecting rural seclusion - Little Lynstone is on a road in a semi-residential area rather than open countryside.
