Cranberry

Cranberry is a three-bedroom semi-detached cottage on Broadclose Hill in Bude on the north Cornwall coast, sleeping five. The property is 700m from Summerleaze Beach and within steps of a local shop and pub. Two well-behaved pets are accepted.

Inside, the ground floor runs a kitchen-diner, a separate sitting room with electric fire, and a downstairs cloakroom with WC. Upstairs are two double bedrooms and a single, served by a family bathroom with bath and walk-in shower. The kitchen has an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine. Wi-Fi and TV are included.

The enclosed lawned garden has a patio with furniture, and off-road parking is on site. Summerleaze Beach - where the tidal Bude Sea Pool fills with Atlantic water on each high tide - is a 700m walk. Crooklets Beach, the town's main surf spot with lifeguard cover and a cafe, is 0.7 miles. The 19th-century Bude Canal runs inland from the harbour for flat-water kayaking and walking.

The South West Coast Path heads north from Crooklets toward Sandymouth and south past Widemouth Bay. Both are accessible on foot or by car in under 20 minutes.

Best for: families or groups with pets wanting a town-centre Bude base with walking distance to two beaches. Less good for: guests wanting remote seclusion - this is a residential street with neighbouring houses.
