Tintagel village is within easy reach, with the English Heritage castle on the headland - the site associated with Arthurian legend - sitting above a dramatic rocky promontory. The castle costs around £16 for adults. Camelford is 5 miles inland, and Padstow is roughly 14 miles south along the coast road. The area has several good pubs, with the Port William at Trebarwith Strand itself worth visiting for its position directly above the beach.
