Little Strand

Little Strand is a single-storey 3-bedroom cottage in Rock, on the east bank of the Camel Estuary opposite Padstow. The cottage sleeps 6 across a king-size and 2 twin rooms, with 3 bathrooms - 2 with bath and shower, plus a utility room with an additional shower and WC. Parking fits 3 cars, which is unusually generous for the village.

Inside, the kitchen runs to electric oven, hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, and dishwasher. The sitting room has Freeview TV and Wi-Fi. Outside, a lawned garden with decked area, garden furniture, and BBQ provides room to eat out in summer.

Daymer Bay - a sheltered sandy beach at the Camel's mouth, good for families and swimming - is 1.3 miles away. Polzeath's surf beach is 2.2 miles north. Rock's waterfront has several sailing and watersport schools, and a water taxi crosses to Padstow every 20 minutes for access to the harbour's restaurants without driving. The Camel Trail cycle path begins at Wadebridge, 4 miles south.

Best for: families or groups of 6 who want estuary access, a well-equipped single-level cottage, and the convenience of both Rock's watersports and Padstow's dining. Less good for: dog owners (no dogs accepted) or those looking for a remote rural setting.
