Lodge 16

Lodge 16 is a single-storey, three-bedroom chalet at Whitsand Bay Fort Holiday Park on the Rame Peninsula, sleeping six. The park includes a shared indoor heated swimming pool and an on-site pub with restaurant.

The chalet has three bedrooms: a double with en-suite walk-in shower, a twin with two 3ft beds, and a second twin with two 2ft 6in beds. A main bathroom has a bath with shower over. The open-plan living area combines a kitchen, dining space, and sitting area with an electric fire. A utility room adds a washing machine alongside the dishwasher and fridge-freezer.

Large wraparound decking with outdoor furniture surrounds the lodge. The chalet area is pedestrianised, with the car park located about 100 yards uphill - worth noting for anyone with mobility concerns. Parking is for one car, with pay-and-display available for additional vehicles.

The Rame Peninsula is one of south Cornwall's quieter stretches. Kingsand Beach, a sand-and-shingle shore with views across Plymouth Sound, is 1.6 miles away. Cawsand Beach sits just beyond at 1.7 miles, with pubs and cafes in the twin fishing villages. Mount Edgcumbe Country Park and its 865 acres of formal gardens occupy the eastern tip of the peninsula, and a passenger ferry from Cremyll connects to Plymouth in about 10 minutes.

Best for a group of up to six wanting pool and pub access on-site at the holiday park; less suited to dog owners, since dogs are not welcome, or anyone with mobility needs, given the uphill walk from the car park.
