Marmaduke Cottage

Marmaduke Cottage is a three-bedroom property in central Fowey, sleeping six guests, with the town's main car park and quay both within 300 metres.

All three bedrooms have king-size beds, so the layout suits three couples or a family who prefer doubles over twins. Two bathrooms serve the group. Upper-floor windows take in Place House and the river, and both a wood burner and an open fire warm the cottage. WiFi, a dishwasher and a garden are included, and the rear courtyard has an outdoor tap for rinsing sandy feet. The living room has an open fire, a window seat and a Smart TV. The top-floor king-size bedroom has a desk in the dormer window and an en-suite bathroom with a large bath and handheld shower. Dogs are not accepted.

Readymoney Cove, below Henry VIII's St Catherine's Castle, is 900 metres away. Lantic Bay, reached via a steep National Trust footpath, is 1.4 miles from the cottage, and Lansallos Beach is 2.6 miles. The passenger ferry to Polruan crosses in under five minutes from the quay, and the Hall Walk circular, a four-mile route using both the Polruan and Bodinnick ferries, starts nearby.

**Best for:** Three couples or a family wanting king-size beds, fires, central Fowey and ferry access to Polruan.

**Less good for:** Guests needing twin beds or step-free access.
