Miners Cottage is a three-bedroom dog-friendly cottage in St Austell's Mount Charles area, sleeping 4 guests about 1 mile from Charlestown and its Georgian harbour. The name fits - this part of Cornwall was shaped by the clay and mining industries whose white spoil heaps still dot the skyline.

Inside, the ground floor has a sitting room with electric recliner sofas and Sky streaming, a separate dining room, and a conservatory. The kitchen has an electric oven, American fridge/freezer, and dishwasher. Three bedrooms upstairs - one double, one small double, one single - share a walk-in shower room. Wi-Fi is included throughout.

The enclosed rear garden has a patio, furniture, and a gas BBQ for evening use. Off-road parking is available on site. Charlestown Beach - coarse sand with rock pools and tall ships moored in the harbour - is about 1 mile south. Carlyon Bay, a wide sandy beach with kayaking and paddleboard hire, is 1.2 miles further east.

St Austell puts two of Cornwall's biggest draws within easy reach: the Eden Project is 2 miles north-east and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are about 5 miles south. A local shop is 0.1 miles away and a pub 0.2 miles - useful for a post-beach evening without getting back in the car.
