Myrtle Cottage is a two-bedroom cottage in Mousehole (pronounced "Mowzle"), the compact harbour village on Penwith's south coast. It sleeps four and sits 100m from Mousehole Beach, with the harbour wall and the village's cluster of pubs and cafes within a short level walk.

Inside, the cottage has a wood burner and an open fire - both functional, not just decorative - along with WiFi, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. Two bedrooms sleep four in total; one bathroom serves the lodge. Dogs are welcome. The renovation is contemporary in feel: calm, unfussy, with good natural light. From £455 per night.

Lamorna Cove is 1.9 miles west along the coast road - a small, rock-sheltered inlet with clear water and no lifeguard. Eastern Green Beach is 3.2 miles east toward Penzance. Mousehole village is compact enough to explore entirely on foot; the harbour still sees working boats alongside the tourist season. Penzance is 2.5 miles for supermarkets and the rail link to London Paddington.

Best for couples or two families sharing who want a working village setting with immediate beach access and good evening options within walking distance. Less good for those needing off-street parking - Mousehole has very limited spaces in peak summer - or anyone wanting a garden or outdoor area.
