North Coombe Farm

North Coombe Farm is a 100-year-old, three-bedroom house for six on a working farm near Launceston. One bedroom has a super-king bed, another a super-king zip-and-link that converts to twins, and the third a double zip-and-link that becomes two-foot-six twins. One bathroom serves the group.

The garden includes a pond, a small boat and a stream used for paddling, features that need close supervision of children and dogs. Original features remain throughout the house, and the setting looks out towards Bodmin Moor, an inland countryside base rather than a coastal one. A pub is just under 2 miles away.

WiFi, parking, a wood burner, an open fire, a barbecue, a dishwasher and a washing machine are all included, and up to two dogs can stay. Downderry Beach and Plaidy Beach are each 13.2 miles away, with East Looe Beach at 13.7 miles, making this more of a moorland retreat than a beach base. Launceston itself, with its Norman castle and medieval street layout, makes a workable day trip.
