The Tate St Ives gallery on Porthmeor, the Barbara Hepworth Sculpture Garden on Barnoon Hill, and the harbour restaurants are all walkable from Bedford Road. Porthminster has lifeguard cover from May through September.

Best for: families or two couples wanting a town-centre base with genuine beach proximity and the rare benefit of private parking for two cars. Less good for: guests needing wheelchair accessibility or those wanting a quiet rural setting away from the town's summer foot traffic.
