Penlee

Penlee is an air-conditioned duplex apartment for six within the grounds of Tregenna Castle Resort in St Ives, the harbour town whose Atlantic light has drawn painters since the 1880s. Its three bedrooms comprise one super-king-size, one king-size and a twin with 2 foot 6 inch beds that are more suitable for children.

The kitchen and living room occupy the lower floor, with the super-king-size bedroom tucked beneath the eaves above. Two bathrooms serve the apartment. Wi-Fi, a dishwasher and parking are provided. Dogs are not accepted. Cooking and laundry equipment includes a gas hob, an electric oven, a fridge/freezer and a washer/dryer. Guests can use the resort's seasonal swimming pool, golf course and gardens instead.

Porthminster Beach is half a mile downhill, a lifeguarded beach with a cafe in peak season. St Ives Harbour Beach is 0.6 miles away and Carbis Bay is 0.7 miles from Penlee. Tate St Ives, on Porthmeor Beach, is under a mile away. The house sleeps up to six guests across three bedrooms and two bathrooms, with parking included.

**Best for:** families wanting resort facilities and three bedrooms near St Ives.

**Less good for:** adults expecting full-width twin beds, or guests who cannot manage stairs.
