Penmar is a three-bedroom cottage on West Road in Looe, sleeping 6 with 1 bathroom. The property has a roof terrace with a summer house - an unusual feature that gives outdoor sitting space with views over the town. The enclosed garden is at ground level. Changeover is Saturday. Two well-behaved pets are welcome, and a pet bed, toys, bowls and towels are provided.

East Looe Beach is 700m from the cottage - a tidal sandy beach in the centre of Looe, sheltered by the estuary. Hannafore Beach, which faces open water to the south, is 0.9 miles. Plaidy Beach, a quieter bay east of the main town, is 0.9 miles. All three are reachable on foot.

Inside: Wi-Fi, parking, and dishwasher. The single bathroom is the main constraint for a group of 6.

Looe is a working harbour town with a real fishing fleet - daily catch is sold from boats on the quayside. The branch line railway from Liskeard, one of the most scenic rural lines in England, runs into Looe station at the top of the estuary. The coast path west to Polperro covers 6 miles of clifftop and is one of the most-walked sections of the South West Coast Path.

Suits families or groups who want to be in Looe's centre for the week, using the summer house as evening outdoor space. The roof terrace gives a practical alternative to a garden on warm evenings. Less good for large groups who need two bathrooms.
