Penpoll

Penpoll is a semi-detached barn conversion for four in Mawnan Smith, near Falmouth, which is 2 miles away, as is the Helford River. Its own hot tub is private, so you don't have to share it with the rest of Tresooth Cottages. Guests looking for the nearby town should see Falmouth.

There are two bedrooms, each with a walk-in shower en-suite, basin and WC. One holds a super-king that can be set as a twin on request, and the other a twin that can be made up as a super-king, so a couple or two friends can choose how to sleep. The twin's en-suite also has a heated towel rail.

Open-plan living combines the kitchen, dining and sitting areas, with a Smart TV, WiFi and a selection of games. The kitchen has an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and coffee machine, plus a cafetiere and a full range of utensils and glassware. Central heating is joined by a log burner; logs are sold direct by the owner and no starter pack is included. Fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included.

The rear patio has furniture but is not enclosed. The site facilities are shared: an outdoor heated swimming pool open from Easter to the end of September, without a lifeguard, where children need a parent or adult over 18; indoor and outdoor hot tubs; a sauna; a games room; and a children's play area. Shared EV charging points are paid for through the Monta app.

Parking off the road is ample. A highchair, stair gate or travel cot can be arranged for an extra charge. No pets are accepted and smoking is not allowed. Hen and stag parties need approval before booking, and in the school summer holidays only 7-night bookings are taken. The shop is 0.5 miles away and the pub 1.8 miles. Penpoll suits a couple or a family of four and is less good for anyone travelling with a dog.
