Pentreath

Pentreath is a semi-detached villa on the seaward-facing side of Carbis Bay, with one well-behaved dog welcome. The practical details for dog owners are covered: a chest of beach gear in the porch, a utility room off the kitchen with a sink for rinsing muddy paws, and an outdoor hose for wetsuits. The enclosed rear courtyard garden has a patio, table, chairs and a large barbecue, and the front garden is laid to lawn.

Inside, the living room has two leather sofas and two armchairs around a gas fire, and the kitchen diner has a table for six by the patio doors. Upstairs are three bedrooms: a king at the rear beside the family bathroom, a twin at the front with zip-and-link beds that can be joined as a super-king if you ask at least seven days before arrival, and a single with sea glimpses. The bathroom has a bath with a shower over, and there is a cloakroom with a WC in the utility room. It sleeps five.

Access is on the ground floor with one step up, and a carpeted flight of 13 stairs leads to the bedrooms and bathroom. Off-road parking is for one car. The shop and beach are 0.3 miles away and the pub is 0.5 miles. A cot and highchair are provided, with guests bringing their own cot bedding. No smoking.

It suits a family or small group with a dog, and is less good for anyone wanting to avoid stairs.
