Lelant Saltings station is steps from the cottage; trains run to St Ives in under 10 minutes, which makes the car unnecessary for town visits and removes the St Ives parking problem entirely. Porthkidney Beach, a long low-tide beach on the estuary, is 0.8 miles on foot. Carbis Bay is 1.6 miles, and Porthminster Beach in St Ives is 2.5 miles.
