Lelant Saltings station is steps from the cottage; trains run to St Ives in under 10 minutes, which makes the car unnecessary for town visits and removes the St Ives parking problem entirely. Porthkidney Beach, a long low-tide beach on the estuary, is 1.3km on foot. Carbis Bay is 2.5km, and Porthminster Beach in St Ives is 4.1km.
