Four-bedroom resort lodge for eight at Retallack Resort & Spa, three miles north of St Columb Major. Two bathrooms, private hot tub on the deck, EV charging at the parking space. The Retallack site sits on the A39 between Newquay and Wadebridge - a practical base for both coasts.

The lodge follows the resort's standard four-bed layout with open-plan kitchen-diner-living downstairs and bedrooms upstairs. There's a BBQ on the deck for evenings outside, plus dishwasher and washing machine inside. Wifi is included. Note: this is a lodge inside a holiday park, not a standalone cottage - neighbours are close, the resort restaurant and pool see steady foot-traffic in summer, and this particular lodge does not accept dogs even though much of the resort does.

Resort facilities included with the booking: indoor pool, sauna, steam room, fitness suite, and the on-site spa. The Aqua Park inflatable obstacle course runs on the lake from May to September. Mawgan Porth is 5.3 miles north for a quieter sand, Watergate Bay 5.7 miles for surf and the Beach Hut, and Padstow eight miles for the Camel Trail and Rick Stein. Cornwall Airport Newquay is six miles south.

Best for two families who want a hot tub, on-site pool, and EV charging without long drives. Less good for dog owners or couples wanting countryside isolation - this is a busy resort, not a quiet retreat.
