Rose Cottage

Rose Cottage is a thatched 3-bedroom cottage in Manaccan on the Helford, sleeping 6 with 1 bathroom. The building dates from the 16th century and has a wood burner and open fire - two separate heat sources that make it a practical choice for autumn and winter bookings as well as summer.

The cottage has wifi, parking, dishwasher, and washing machine included. No dogs.

Manaccan itself is a quiet village with a 13th-century church and a pub, the New Inn, within walking distance. Helford Passage is nearby - the departure point for kayak hire and a natural starting point for river walks. Ponsence Cove is 1.2 miles away; Helford Passage beach is 1.2 miles. Gillan Creek and Porthallow are the nearest coastal alternatives. Coverack, with its harbour wall and rock pools, is roughly 3.7 miles to the south.

Helford River is navigable to small boats, and the river crossing by foot ferry between Helford village and Helford Passage operates in season. Trebah and Glendurgan gardens are both within 20 minutes by car. Changeover is Friday.

Rose Cottage is ideal for families wanting a rural base on the Helford, or two couples who want period character and fireside evenings. Not great for guests who need a beach within walking distance - the nearest coves require a short drive or walk.
