Rose Cottage

Rose Cottage is a 3-bedroom two-storey cottage down a quiet lane in St Issey, sleeping 6 across 2 doubles and a twin bedroom. The interior keeps the original character: beamed ceilings, wooden floors, and a wood burner in the living room provide the kind of period detail that sits naturally in this rural north Cornwall village, about 2 miles south of Padstow.

Two bathrooms serve the three bedrooms, and the kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher and washing machine. The enclosed garden is mainly laid to lawn with patio furniture and a paved area to the front - a sheltered outdoor space for warmer evenings. Up to 2 dogs are welcome.

Trevone Bay is around 3.9 miles - a sandy family beach with a natural blowhole in the western cliffs and lifeguards in summer. Daymer Bay is about 4.1 miles, with its sheltered estuary water ideal for young children. Padstow is 4 miles north; the harbour, Rick Stein's restaurants, and the start of the 18-mile Camel Trail are all there. Wadebridge (3 miles south-east) gives everyday shopping and a link into the cycle trail.

Best for: families or two couples wanting a rural base with original character close to Padstow and several north Cornwall beaches. Less good for: groups needing a hot tub or sea views - this is a countryside cottage with no luxury extras.
