Daymer Bay is 2.1 miles away, a sheltered sandy beach backed by dunes where the church of St Enodoc, where John Betjeman is buried, sits among the sand hills. The Black Tor Ferry crosses the estuary to Padstow's harbour and restaurants in a few minutes, and the Camel Trail cycle path can be picked up at Wadebridge, 4 miles south, for a ride along the water to Bodmin.
