The cottage has private access to the Camel Estuary, though that frontage is a river outlook rather than a sea view. There is no WiFi, parking, dishwasher or washing machine, and dogs are not accepted.

Daymer Bay is 2.1 miles away, a sheltered sandy beach backed by dunes where the church of St Enodoc, where John Betjeman is buried, sits among the sand hills. Greenaway Beach is 2.5 miles away and Polzeath, with its reliable surf break, is 3 miles north. The Black Tor Ferry crosses the estuary to Padstow's harbour and restaurants in a few minutes, and the Camel Trail cycle path can be picked up at Wadebridge, 4 miles south, for a ride along the water to Bodmin.
