Sea Holly

The clearest reason to pick Sea Holly is the mix of space and position. It is a renovated four-bedroom cottage a short walk from the centre of St Just, with Cape Cornwall and the coast path 0.5 miles away, and the shop and pub the same distance. The cottage has sea views, and on a clear day the Isles of Scilly can be seen from the windows.

Downstairs are a kitchen with a range oven and hob, a dishwasher, a washing machine and a tumble dryer, plus a dining room, a utility room and a sitting room with a woodburning stove. Fuel, power and a starter pack for the stove are included, along with bed linen and towels. Underfloor heating runs downstairs and radiators upstairs, on oil central heating. There is a ground-floor shower room with a walk-in shower.

Upstairs are four bedrooms: a king-size, a double and two singles, with a bathroom that has a bath and shower over. The front garden is enclosed and has seating, and off-road parking takes two cars. Four body boards and some beach toys are there for guests to borrow. Two dogs are welcome, though only downstairs, and the cottage is no smoking.

The house is in St Just, a short drive from Sennen beach, about 5 miles away. It suits a family or two couples sharing, with a king-size, a double and singles to divide among six. It is less good for guests with a dog that needs to sleep upstairs, as dogs are kept to the ground floor.
