Godrevy Lighthouse, the inspiration for Virginia Woolf's To The Lighthouse, stands three miles offshore, and St Michael's Mount at Marazion lies under 10 miles cross-country.

Best for a couple wanting a quiet St Ives base with three beaches in walking distance. Less good for anyone travelling with a dog, since dogs are not accepted here, or for groups needing more than one bedroom.
