The South West Coast Path runs directly accessible from the village, making this a natural base for multi-day walking. Porthtowan beach itself is within walking distance of the property - a broad sandy beach with surf at most states of the tide. Trevaunance Cove is 2.7 miles along the path to the east; Portreath Beach lies 3.2 miles to the west. Both are quieter alternatives when Porthtowan gets busy in peak season.

Practical facilities include parking, wifi, dishwasher, and washing machine - useful for groups staying a full week rather than a weekend. A BBQ is available for the garden. Up to 2 dogs are welcome at no extra cost, making this a workable choice for families that walk with pets along the cliff paths.
