Trevaunance Cove at St Agnes is 2.9 miles by road - a small, sheltered cove backed by the remnants of Cornwall's tin and copper mining era, with the coast path running south along the cliffs. Trevellas Cove, another small north-facing inlet, is 2.9 miles. Perranporth's 3-mile Atlantic beach, one of the longest stretches of sand on the north Cornish coast, is 4.3 miles.

St Agnes village, around 15 minutes by car, has a pub, independent shops, a local bakery, and the Trevaunance Cove cafe strip. Truro is 20 minutes south for a full range of supermarkets, restaurants, and the county's main theatre and arts centre.

Best for couples who want a quiet, accessible rural base in mid-Cornwall with the coast and city both within easy reach. Good for walking or cycling the network of quiet lanes around Blackwater. Not great for groups of more than 2, dog owners, or those who need the beach on foot.
