Trevaunance Cove is 1.3 miles downhill, a small surf beach at the foot of the valley with a seasonal cafe. Trevellas Cove is 1.6 miles, less visited and reached by a steep descent. Perranporth, the area's main beach with 3 miles of sand, is 4.1 miles south.

St Agnes village has a bakery, pubs including the Taphouse, and the Blue Hills Tin Streams heritage site within a mile. The Wheal Coates engine house, photographed more than almost any other mine ruin in Cornwall, is a short walk along the coast path north of the village.
