East Looe beach in the town has a seasonal dog restriction during summer months, so the outlying coves become more useful for guests with pets. Downderry Beach, 4.5km south, is another option along the coast road.

Looe town has two harbours, a fish market on the quay, and independent shops along the main street. The Banjo Pier is the photographic focal point of the harbour.
