Porth Beach itself, a short walk south, is a wider family-friendly bay with rock pools and a seasonal cafe. Porth sits roughly halfway between Watergate Bay and Newquay centre.

Watergate Bay is 0.9 miles north along the coast - a long stretch of sand with a surf school and the Extreme Academy activity centre on the beach. Tolcarne Beach in Newquay is 1.2 miles south. Fistral, one of the UK's most well-known surf beaches, is around 1.9 miles away by road.

Newquay town centre is within cycling distance and has supermarkets, restaurants, and the Blue Reef Aquarium. The A3059 gives fast access east toward the A30 for day trips to Truro or across the moor.
