Starfish Cottage

Starfish Cottage is a three-bedroom, three-bathroom dog-friendly cottage on Bay View Road in Charlestown, with private beach access. It sits within a UNESCO World Heritage Site at the edge of one of Cornwall's most recognisable Georgian harbours.

Inside, the cottage has a kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine, a living area with sofa, TV, and dining table, plus free WiFi throughout. Three separate bathrooms remove the queue problem for multi-generational groups.

Outside, a garden, terrace, and barbecue area give private outdoor space, with free parking on-site. The private beach access is the standout feature. Porthpean Beach - a sheltered cove with rock pools and summer lifeguard cover - is under 800 metres away. Charlestown's harbour has tall ships moored year-round and hosts the Shipwreck Treasure Museum, which holds artefacts from over 165 wrecks.

The Eden Project is about 5 miles north, and St Austell railway station (London Paddington to Penzance line) is under 2 miles away - useful for car-free arrivals.

**Best for:** Dog owners and multi-generational families wanting a south coast base with private beach access and cultural interest nearby.

**Less good for:** Groups prioritising surf - the nearest reliable surf beach is at Newquay, about 15 miles west.
