5 The Old Smokehouse is a cottage on Duck Street in Charlestown, 200 metres from the Georgian harbour and its moored tall ships. The property sleeps 5 in 3 bedrooms and welcomes one small dog.

A king-size bedroom with TV has an en-suite walk-in shower, and a double and single bedroom share the main bathroom with bath and shower over. A cloakroom with basin and WC sits on the ground floor. Carlyon Bay is 900 metres east, a longer sandy beach with watersports hire and a championship golf course.

Charlestown harbour, built in the 1790s by Charles Rashleigh, is the last intact 18th-century working harbour in the UK and part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Shipwreck Treasure Museum holds over 8,000 artefacts. St Austell is under 2 miles north, and the Eden Project is a 10-minute drive.

Best for small groups or families wanting a short walk to Charlestown's harbour beach, with garden space for a BBQ and one small dog welcome. Less suited to guests bringing more than one car - private parking fits only one vehicle.
