Stokes Cottage

Stokes Cottage is a 2-bedroom cottage in St Minver village, sleeping 4 with 1 bathroom. No hot tub or pool, but the core kit is present: wifi, parking, dishwasher, and washing machine.

St Minver sits on the Camel Estuary side of the peninsula, which keeps it quiet compared to the surf towns on the north Atlantic edge. The position gives you practical access to three distinct beaches within 2.5 miles. Daymer Bay is 2.3 miles north - a sheltered, crescent-shaped sandy bay at the mouth of the Camel, popular with families and safe swimmers. Polzeath Beach is 2.4 miles, where the surf is consistent and the beach more active. Greenaway Beach is 2.4 miles, smaller and generally quieter than either.

Rock village is under 3.1 miles, with the passenger and vehicle ferry to Padstow running most of the year. The water taxi crossing takes about 5 minutes; Padstow's harbour, restaurants, and Rick Stein's fish and chip shop are on the other side. The Camel Trail cycle path starts in Padstow and runs 18 miles to Bodmin via Wadebridge, mostly flat and car-free.

Suits couples or small families who want a North Cornwall base with manageable beach distances and a proper village setting rather than a holiday park atmosphere. Less good for anyone who needs to walk to the waves from the front door.
