Swallow Cottage

Swallow Cottage is a converted stone barn for six on the Lee Barton Farm estate near Bude, with three bedrooms sharing one bathroom, a working farm setting rather than a coastal one. Kilkhampton, with its parish church of over 150 carved 15th-century bench ends, is the nearest village. The bedrooms are a double, a twin and a bunk room, and the bathroom has a bath with a shower over it.

The open-plan living area opens onto a lawned garden, and off-road parking is provided for two cars. Wi-Fi and a washing machine are included. Dogs are welcome. Changeover day is Saturday, with arrival from 4.30pm, and bed linen, towels, fuel and power are included in the rent.

Duckpool Beach is 1.7 miles away, Sandymouth Beach is 2 miles and Northcott Mouth Beach is 2.8 miles, all reached via the Coombe Valley nature reserve lanes. Bude town centre and its beaches are about 2 miles by road, making the farm a practical driving base for several coastal options rather than a walk-to-the-beach stay.

**Best for:** a family wanting working-farm surroundings, a lawned garden, laundry facilities and a choice of beaches within a short drive. **Less good for:** guests needing more than one bathroom, step-free access or a beach within walking distance.
