Swanpool 30 is a two-bedroom cottage for four on the St Mellion Estate near St Mellion, in the Tamar Valley. One super-king zip-and-link bedroom can be made up as twins on request, and the second bedroom has bunks, with two bathrooms serving the group.

Countryside views come with a garden and a barbecue. Estate facilities include a spa, two golf courses, including the Nicklaus course redesigned by Jack Nicklaus in 1988, and a restaurant. Wi-Fi, parking, a dishwasher and washing machine are included, and one dog can stay.

This is an inland base rather than a walk-to-beach stay: Downderry Beach is 8.6 miles away, Whitsand Bay is 8.9 miles and Kingsand Beach 10.1 miles. Plymouth is about 12 miles away, and Looe and Polperro on the south coast are around 30 minutes by car.

The rating is 4.3 out of 5 from two reviews, with host Joanne's letting agent scoring comfort five out of five and cleanliness and equipment four each, though the sample is too small for a firm consensus.

**Best for:** a small family wanting bunk beds, two bathrooms, estate leisure facilities and room for one dog. **Less good for:** guests expecting a pool, a nearby beach, EV charging or step-free access.
