Nampara 17

Nampara 17 is a single-storey cottage on the 450-acre St Mellion Estate in east Cornwall, sleeping 6 in three bedrooms. Guests have access to the estate's health club, golf courses and on-site dining - making it a practical base for groups who want facilities on their doorstep.

The open-plan living space has timber-clad ceilings and large patio doors that fill the room with natural light. A fully equipped kitchen includes an electric oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washing machine. The dining table sits centrally, and the lounge area has a Smart TV and comfortable seating. All three bedrooms have king-size zip-and-link beds (convertible to twins on request), and two of the three have en-suite shower rooms. The third bedroom includes a seating area with its own Smart TV. A separate bathroom has a shower-over-bath.

Patio doors from the lounge and bedrooms open onto a terrace with garden furniture. The estate grounds extend across 450 acres of open land, and private parking is available for two cars. Dogs are welcome (up to 2).

Downderry Beach is 8.6 miles south, a mile-long stretch of sand and shingle. Whitsand Bay, with 4 miles of cliff-backed sand, is 8.9 miles away. Plymouth is about 12 miles southeast, and the Tamar Valley AONB surrounds the estate with walking routes along the river. Cotehele, a National Trust property, is 3.5 miles away.

Best for families and golfing groups who want estate facilities and a health club on site, with Plymouth and the Tamar Valley within easy reach by car. Less good for anyone wanting a beach within walking distance, since the nearest sand is 8.6 miles south, or for guests after a standalone rural cottage rather than a managed estate.
