Pindee 19

Pindee 19 is a three-bedroom cottage within the St Mellion International Resort in east Cornwall, sleeping 6. All three bedrooms are super-king-size zip-and-link rooms that can be configured as twins on request - each has an en-suite or private shower room and patio doors opening to a terrace. WiFi, parking, dishwasher, washing machine, and a BBQ are included.

Resort-wide facilities are the main draw here: three swimming pools, a spa with steam room and sauna, two 18-hole golf courses (including the Nicklaus course redesigned by Jack Nicklaus in 1988), and an on-site restaurant. The estate covers 450 acres of Tamar Valley countryside and sits within the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The on-site leisure centre is shared across resort properties.

Downderry Beach on the south coast is about 9 miles away. Plymouth - with the National Marine Aquarium and the Barbican waterfront - is roughly 12 miles southeast across the Tamar Bridge. Looe and Polperro are around 30 minutes south by car, and the Tamar Valley Line railway runs along the river for scenic day trips without a car.

**Best for:** Golfers, families with children who need a pool, or groups who want a self-contained resort experience in east Cornwall rather than a coastal village. **Less good for:** Those wanting seaside proximity or a traditional Cornish village feel; the nearest beach is a 20-minute drive.
