Talland 32

Talland 32 is a three-bedroom house arranged across four levels on the gated Talland Bay estate, sleeping seven. The standout room is the top-floor living space - vaulted ceiling, full-width glass, and balconies that look out across the estate to the countryside above the cove. It sits midway between Looe and Polperro on Cornwall's south coast.

Inside, each of the three bedrooms has its own bathroom. The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher and washing machine, and the lounge has an open fire for shoulder-season evenings. Stairs lead down to the other bedrooms. The four-level layout means stairs feature heavily - worth noting if anyone in the party finds them awkward.

Outside, the estate is private and gated with landscaped gardens. Shared facilities include a 12m x 6m heated indoor pool, a naturally filtered outdoor plunge pool open year-round, a sauna and a small gym. On-site managers can book taxis and boat trips, and Cornish welcome hampers can be pre-ordered. A private hot tub is at the cottage. Dogs are not accepted. Parking is on site.

Talland Bay is a south-facing cove with sand and rock pools at low tide, two beach cafes, and year-round dog access. The coast path runs west to Polperro (1 mile via Lansallos) and east to Looe (3 miles via Hannafore). The Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are within an hour by car.

Best for groups who want hotel-grade leisure facilities without leaving the door. Less good for anyone who prefers a single-storey layout or a private pool.
