The Ark Cottage

The Ark Cottage is an adults-only, one-bedroom cottage for two near St Blazey, a short drive from the Eden Project. One bathroom serves the stay, and both a wood burner and a separate open fire give the living room two sources of heat for cooler evenings, a rare combination on a single-bedroom listing.

Wi-Fi, off-road parking, a dishwasher and a washing machine are included, along with a garden and an accessible layout. Dogs are not accepted, so this suits a couple travelling without pets. Changeover day is Saturday, and 46 Sykes reviews have been left for the cottage.

The Eden Project's biomes are about a mile north of St Blazey by road, and Par railway station, on the Penzance to Plymouth line, is roughly a mile south. Carlyon Bay, a long sandy beach with a gently sloping seabed, is 1.4 miles away. Charlestown Beach, beside the Georgian harbour used as a Poldark filming location, is 1.9 miles, and Porthpean Beach, a sheltered family cove with rock pools at low tide, is 2.6 miles. Fowey, with its estuary and sailing scene, is about 4 miles further south-east.

**Best for:** Two adults wanting fire features, laundry facilities, off-road parking and the Eden Project within a mile.

**Less good for:** Families with children, dog owners or travellers needing EV charging.
