The Artists Barn

The Artists Barn is a one-bedroom, dog-friendly apartment in a converted granite barn near Launceston, set in a rural hamlet at the edge of Bodmin Moor. Step-free access is available.

Inside, the apartment has a kitchen with oven, microwave, refrigerator, and toaster, plus a washing machine, dining table, and streaming services. A wood burner is the centrepiece of the living space - practical in a building with stone walls that hold the cold outside summer months. Free WiFi is included throughout.

The terrace and garden with outdoor seating and a BBQ give space for warmer evenings, and free private parking - plus bicycle storage - is on site. Dogs are welcome in the cottage and on the lanes immediately outside.

Launceston is Cornwall's historic county town 3 miles east, with a Norman castle overlooking the Tamar Valley and independent shops along its steep high street. Bodmin Moor is within minutes of the door. North coast beaches at Bude and Crackington Haven are around 30 minutes by car. Tintagel is about 15 miles north-west.

**Best for:** Couples or solo travellers with a dog who want a rural retreat close to both Cornwall and Dartmoor, with character and warmth built in.

**Less good for:** Families needing more than one bedroom, or those prioritising beach access - the nearest coast is roughly 12 miles away.
