The apartment is on the ground floor, off a communal hall at street level, with a small step up into the shower. The kitchen is on the left as you enter, the dining table sits under the picture windows, and the lounge has a sofa bed and armchair, and the en-suite bathroom has a walk-in shower.

Porthminster Beach, a sheltered, south-facing beach with an award-winning beachfront café, is 150 metres away. St Ives Harbour Beach, the town beach sheltered by Smeaton's Pier, is 200 metres, and Porthmeor Beach, the Atlantic-facing surf break below the Tate St Ives gallery, is 600 metres. St Ives station sits by Porthminster Beach, so the car can stay at home. St Ives itself has four beaches and an artists' colony dating back to the 1880s.

**Best for:** A couple wanting immediate water views and three central beaches within a short walk.

**Less good for:** Groups of three who want a separate bedroom each.
