The Cabin Retreat

The Cabin Retreat is a one-bedroom lodge for two near Lanhydrock, the National Trust estate south of Bodmin with 900 acres of woodland, magnolia gardens and some of Cornwall's best mountain bike trails. Host Sophie manages the booking. It has a double bedroom and one bathroom.

Underfloor heating runs through the open-plan kitchen, lounge and dining area. Outside, the garden contains a private hot tub, fire pit and barbecue. Wi-Fi, parking, a dishwasher and washing machine are included, and one dog is welcome. From £510 per week, the lodge is priced for a couple rather than a family.

The lodge sits in Bokiddick, a farming hamlet where an Iron Age hut circle has been recorded and Helman Tor's granite hillfort rises directly across the road, giving 500 acres of walking trails from the door. The Eden Project is about 5 miles south and Lanhydrock House itself around 3 miles east. Fowey and Looe are each under 20 minutes away by car. This is an inland base, so beach visits mean a drive either way.

Carlyon Bay is 5.5 miles away, Charlestown Beach is 6.0 miles and Porthpean Beach is 6.5 miles.
