Duckpool Beach is roughly 1.7 miles to the west - a National Trust cove with large boulders, dramatic cliffs, and no commercial facilities. It is one of the quieter stretches on the north Cornwall coast. Sandy Mouth Beach is around 2 miles away, and Bude's town beaches - Summerleaze with its tidal sea pool, and Crooklets for surfing - are a short drive south.

**Best for:** families of up to 6 wanting a farmland base close to north Cornwall's beaches without paying harbour-town prices; walkers using the South West Coast Path near Duckpool.

**Less good for:** guests who want to walk to the beach or town; those needing a hot tub, wood burner, or sea view.
