The Looe Valley branch line - a 15-mile scenic route to Liskeard - leaves from a station close by and makes a practical day out without the car.

The South West Coast Path runs through Looe in both directions, east toward Downderry and west toward Polperro. Best for families or groups of six wanting a practical base in the centre of Looe with the parking problem solved. Less good for groups needing a garden or those who find ground-floor properties in older buildings feel small.
